Buyer Benefits
  • Genuine ABB Lubricating Oil TMO 150 (part no. 3HAC032140-004), manufactured by Kyodo Yushi — the ABB-specified oil for robot joint gearboxes, not a generic substitute.
  • Supplied as a sealed 20 L drum (approx. 17.76 kg; 150 × 350 × 150 mm); ISO VG 150 synthetic gear oil with high viscosity index and a low pour point for cold-start conditions.
  • Used on ABB medium-to-large robots (commonly IRB 2600 / 4600 / 6600 / 6700 / 7600) for joint-gearbox lubrication — confirm your exact robot model and axis from the unit serial number before purchase.
  • Cross-check support: if your service manual lists a different TMO 150 order number (for example 3HAC032140-001), send it to us and we will confirm the match.
  • Mixing with other oils is prohibited — we advise on correct change intervals and procedures to protect your reducers.

Synthetic Gear Oil for ABB Robot Joint Gearboxes

Specifications

Product Category ABB Robot Consumables — Gearbox Oil / Lubricants
Brand ABB (manufactured by Kyodo Yushi)
Product Name Lubricating Oil TMO 150
Part Number 3HAC032140-004
Function Synthetic gear oil for robot joint gearboxes / RV reducers
Definition A high-viscosity-index synthetic gear lubricant formulated for the compact, high-load reduction gears used in ABB robot joints. It maintains a stable oil film across wide temperature swings and resists micro-pitting and wear under the high shock loads of robotic motion.
Compatibility ABB medium-to-large payload robots — commonly IRB 2600 / 4600 / 6600 / 6700 / 7600 and similar models for joint-gearbox lubrication. Confirm your exact robot model and axis from the unit serial number before purchase.
Volume 20 L (sealed drum)
Net Weight Approx. 17.76 kg
Dimensions 150 × 350 × 150 mm (width × height × depth)
Viscosity Grade ISO VG 150
Viscosity (40°C) Approx. 150 mm²/s
Viscosity Index High (catalog value approx. 189)
Flash Point Approx. 302 °C
Pour Point Low pour point for reliable cold-start (commonly cited around −35 °C)
Operating Temperature Wide operating range; suitable for cold-start and welding / high-temperature environments
Part Type New
Detailed Technical Parameters Full ABB specification and change interval are defined in your robot's lubrication manual — confirm against the nameplate / service documentation for your unit before ordering.

Industrial Applications

  • Joint-gearbox (RV reducer) lubrication on ABB industrial robots.
  • Main-axis / reducer lubrication where ABB specifies TMO 150.
  • Scheduled preventive maintenance and oil-change programs on production lines.
  • Welding, heavy-payload handling and 3C assembly cells running ABB medium-to-large robots.

Design Purpose

This is the oil that lives inside the robot's reduction gears, not a general-purpose industrial lubricant. Robot joint reducers run compact, high-pressure contact geometry under constant start-stop and shock loading, so the oil has to do two jobs at once: keep a stable film when the cell is hot and welding nearby, and still flow when the robot cold-starts on a winter morning. A high-viscosity-index synthetic is what delivers that spread without breaking down.

The formulation is also matched to the seals and the reducer metallurgy ABB uses — which is exactly why it should not be swapped for a "similar-looking" off-the-shelf gear oil. Wrong base chemistry can swell or harden seals and attack the gear surfaces, and mixing two oils can trigger a reaction that damages the reducer. That is the core reason ABB publishes a single specified oil per gear position rather than leaving it open.

Handling & application: Never mix TMO 150 with another brand or grade of oil — mixing can cause reducer corrosion, micro-pitting and seal leakage. Always drain the old oil completely and clean the gearbox before refilling. Follow the change interval and fill volume stated in your robot's lubrication manual. Use gloves and eye protection, store the sealed drum upright, and dispose of used oil according to local regulations.

Common Failure Modes

  • Premature reducer wear or micro-pitting from the wrong oil or mixed oils.
  • Seal swelling, hardening or leakage caused by an incompatible lubricant.
  • Gearbox overheating under load from incorrect viscosity grade.
  • Cold-start hesitation or poor lubrication at low temperature from the wrong grade.
  • Contamination (dirt, water, residual old oil) leading to abrasive wear.
  • Under-fill (air pockets, thin film) or over-fill (aeration, overheating).
  • Reduced positioning accuracy and repeatability as lubrication degrades.

Why Choose Us

  • Genuine ABB Lubricating Oil TMO 150 (3HAC032140-004), manufactured by Kyodo Yushi — the ABB-specified oil for robot joint gearboxes, not a generic substitute.
  • Fit-confirmation support: TMO 150 is listed under more than one ABB order number, so we cross-check the exact number and your robot model before you buy.
  • Wrong-part avoidance: we distinguish this 20 L gearbox oil from robot wrist-axis grease — two different consumables that are easy to confuse when ordering maintenance kits.
  • Quotation-based supply with condition confirmed before ordering; no stock or dispatch-time promises.

Related Products

  • 3HAC032140-001 — ABB Lubricating Oil TMO 150 (same product family; your site lists it for J1–J3 gearboxes). Different order number / pack configuration — tell us your robot model and we will confirm which one your manual calls for.
  • Per-robot wrist-axis grease — not a single part number; send us your robot model and serial number and we will quote the correct ABB-specified grease for the wrist axes.
