ABB splits the IRC5 power architecture into generation and distribution instead of using one large supply. This module does the generation: it produces the 24 V DC rail that the logic and I/O side of the controller runs on. The DSQC 662 then distributes power across the drive and control domains. Keeping those functions apart is what makes an IRC5 power fault locatable — the symptom pattern tells you which half of the supply chain to look at.
That split gives maintenance a useful rule of thumb. Faults that show up on I/O, sensors or logic point at this module; faults that show up on drives or motor circuits point at the distribution side.
