Inquiry| Part Number | 3HAC043904-001 |
| ABB Designation | DSQC 633C |
| Brand | ABB |
| Category | Serial measurement unit (SMB) — robot position and measurement feedback |
| Definition | ABB 3HAC043904-001 is the DSQC 633C serial measurement unit used in the position-feedback path of compatible ABB robots. |
| Function | Carries the serial measurement link between the manipulator axis feedback and the controller, so the controller retains the axis-position reference across power cycles. |
| System Compatibility | ABB IRC5 controller platform. Confirm your robot model, serial number and controller generation against the ABB parts list before ordering — SMB revisions are not interchangeable by appearance. |
| Assembly Content | Documented as a complete unit with serial measurement board and bracket. Distributor documentation also identifies this article as the RMU102 three-pole battery-contact variant — confirm the bracket form and contact type against your installed unit. |
| Installation | Robot base / manipulator electronics compartment |
| Service Level | L2 spare in ABB robot service documentation |
| Battery | The backup battery is a separate unit in the robot base. Check its condition when the measurement unit is replaced; if it is depleted the axis-position data can be lost. |
| Commissioning | After replacement the revolution counters must be verified or updated before the robot returns to production. |
| Selection Rule | Match the complete article number, the DSQC 633C designation, the bracket form and the battery-contact type. Similar-looking measurement units of a different revision are not interchangeable. |
| Net Weight | Not confirmed (single-source listing; no independent corroboration) |
| Dimensions | Not confirmed (single-source listing; no independent corroboration) |
| Customs Tariff Number | Not confirmed (single-source listing; classify for your destination) |

| Condition | New original or used original. Please confirm the condition with us before ordering. |
An IRC5 controller does not read each axis directly. Position feedback from the manipulator is collected and passed back over a serial measurement link, and the unit that terminates that link on the robot side is the serial measurement unit. It is the reason the controller can be switched off and still know where the robot is standing when power returns — the axis-position reference is held at the manipulator rather than being re-taught every start-up.
Because that reference is hardware-held, the unit is a revision-specific spare. The DSQC 633C is one revision in this family, and it is identified by the complete article number together with the bracket form and battery-contact arrangement that go with it — two units can look alike and still not be interchangeable. Replacement is also not finished when the unit is fitted: the revolution counters have to be verified or updated before the robot can run correctly, and the backup battery condition is checked at the same time, since a depleted cell costs the robot the very position data the unit exists to protect.
