The DSQC431 (3HAC036260-001, MDU-430C) is the main drive unit of an ABB IRC5 controller. It forms the principal motor-drive power stage: it takes the DC bus voltage from the rectifier / power-supply section and switches it into precise 3-phase AC for the robot axis servo motors. Integrated IGBT power stages provide overcurrent and overtemperature protection, and the module relies on forced-air cooling from the controller cabinet. As the central drive element, a correct and healthy DSQC431 is required before the robot can move.
