Robot Parts Repair Service
When a robot line goes down, the cause is usually a single component — a controller board that won't boot, a teach pendant with a dead screen, a servo drive that drops out under load — not the whole machine. Most of these can be fixed, often for a fraction of the cost and lead time of a new module. We do robot parts repair for the ABB, FANUC, KUKA and YASKAWA controllers our customers run: we load-test every unit to specification and ship it back with a 12-month warranty on most units we return. Send us the part number and the fault you're seeing, and we come back with a written quote, typically within 24 hours.
What we repair
We repair industrial robot components across ABB, FANUC, KUKA and YASKAWA — component-level, using OEM-spec parts. That covers ABB DSQC boards and FlexPendants (DSQC 639, DSQC 679, DSQC 663 drive units), FANUC servo amplifiers and R-30iB pendants (A06B-6079 / A06B-6096 / A06B-6110, A05B-2255-C101), KUKA power and servo packs (KPP 600-20 00-160-150, KSP 600 3×40 00-198-268, smartPAD 00-168-334) and YASKAWA servo packs and DX200 boards (SGDA / SGDH, YCP21 / YIF01, JZRCR-YPP01-1). The categories we handle most often:
| Category | Typical parts we repair |
|---|---|
| Controller boards | DSQC 639 / 1018 main computer, DSQC 651 / 668 axis computer, DSQC 662 power distribution, DSQC 633 SMB boards |
| Teach pendants | FlexPendant touch, keys, enable switch and cable — see our teach pendant joystick guide |
| Servo drives | DSQC 663 / 664 drive units — see our IRC5 overcurrent alarm guide |
| Servo motors | Stator, encoder and brake repair, plus balancing and load verification |
| FANUC servo drives & pendants | A06B-6079 / A06B-6096 / A06B-6110 / A06B-6114 servo amplifiers, A05B-2255-C101 R-30iB teach pendant, A06B-6xxx control PCBs |
| KUKA power & servo packs | KPP 600-20 (00-160-150) power pack, KSP 600 3×40 (00-198-268) servo pack, smartPAD 00-168-334, RDC3 position board |
| YASKAWA servo packs & boards | SGDA / SGDH / SGDM servo packs, DX200 boards (YCP21 / YIF01), JZRCR-YPP01-1 teach pendants |
| Cables & harnesses | Power, signal and teach-pendant cables — re-termination and shielding repair |
If your part isn't listed, send the number anyway — most robot components are within reach of a bench repair.
How a repair goes
The send-in process is straight: you ship the faulty part, we tell you what's wrong and what it costs, and you decide. Nothing moves until you approve.
| 1 · Send in | → | 2 · Assess | → | 3 · Quote | → | 4 · Repair | → | 5 · Load test | → | 6 · Ship back |
- Send in your part with the part number and a short note on the fault.
- We assess — diagnose the failure and confirm what actually failed.
- We quote — you get a written quote, no obligation to proceed.
- On your go-ahead, we repair — component-level work with OEM-spec parts.
- Load test — the unit runs under load to verify it holds up, not just powers on.
- We ship it back with a repair report you keep on file.
Safety: live controller boards carry dangerous voltage and stored charge. Don't open a powered unit — disconnect and lock it out, then ship the faulty part to us. Our technicians do the bench work.
Tested under load before it ships
A board can light up on the bench and still drop out the moment the axis moves. That's why every unit we return is run under load before it leaves — the same "tested before shipping" standard we apply to the parts we supply. What that covers:
- Functional test — the unit does the job it's meant to do.
- Load test — it holds under real operating current, not just idle.
- Insulation test — no leakage that would bite you weeks later.
- Comms test — it talks to the controller the way it should.
The result goes into the repair report, so you know the part was verified, not just swapped.
Repair or replace — an honest call
We don't push a fix to protect margin, and we don't push new parts to save bench time. The right answer depends on the fault and your downtime. As a rule:
| Your case | What we usually recommend | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Board powers on but faults under load | Repair | Component-level fix costs far less; we load-test afterwards |
| Module is current-generation | Repair (replace only if the line can't wait) | Repair saves cost; we confirm lead time if you need a unit now |
| Part is obsolete / no test jig | Replace with a tested unit | See our refurbished & certified parts |
| Mechanical wear past tolerance (wrist, reducer) | Replace or recondition | Precision can't be restored by component repair |
| Safety-related fault you can't verify | Replace via RMA | Don't gamble on safety; we handle it through RMA |
Warranty on repaired units
Most units we return leave with a 12-month warranty. For discontinued-series parts the cover is shorter — typically 3 to 6 months — because spares and test jigs are harder to source. Either way, the exact term is confirmed when we quote, so you know where you stand before anything is opened. You can add extended cover on request; for repairs, the extension is priced at the same rate as the repair itself.
Diagnosis and testing are free. We tell you what failed and what it costs to put right, then confirm with you before we start any bench work — so you only pay for a repair you've approved. The repair report we send back is yours to keep for your maintenance records.
Turnaround and what to send us
To quote, we only need a few things — the more you send, the faster and more accurate the quote:
- Part number (or a photo of the nameplate — serial helps but isn't required)
- The fault — alarm code, symptom, or what the unit does wrong
- Your robot model & serial, if known, so we match the right revision
Rush handling is available when the line is down — tell us it's urgent in your message. Exact turnaround is confirmed after we see the unit, since it depends on what failed.
If you're not sure what's broken, our remote diagnostics team can read your event log and point you at the right part before anything ships.
FAQ
Which parts can you repair?
Controller boards and robot controller board repair (ABB DSQC 639/1018/651/668/662/633, KUKA KPP 600-20 / KSP 600, YASKAWA DX200 YCP21 / YIF01), FlexPendant repair and teach pendant repair (ABB DSQC 679, FANUC A05B-2255-C101, KUKA smartPAD 00-168-334, YASKAWA JZRCR-YPP01-1), servo drives and robot drive unit repair (ABB DSQC 663/664, FANUC A06B-6079 / A06B-6110, YASKAWA SGDA / SGDH servo packs), servo motor repair, and robot cables. That covers ABB, FANUC, KUKA and YASKAWA — if it's a robot component, send the number and we'll tell you if it's a bench job.
Repair or replace — how do we decide?
By the fault and your downtime, not by what's convenient for us. The table above is the same call we make on every unit; if repair isn't viable we say so and return the part.
What if you can't fix my part?
We tell you what we found and send it back. You only pay for a repair you approved.
Can I ask a technical question without buying anything?
Yes. Root-cause advice is free — we'll tell you what's failing and what it takes to fix it. We only send a quote when you want us to repair or replace the part.
What do I need to send for a quote?
Just the part number and a short fault note. A photo of the nameplate and your robot serial speed things up, but they aren't required to get a quote.
How long is the warranty, and what does extended cover cost?
Most units we return carry 12 months. Discontinued-series parts carry 3-6 months, since spares are scarcer. Both can be extended, and for repairs the extension is priced at the same rate as the repair. The exact term is confirmed in your quote — contact us with the part number if you want it up front.
